Axel Spielberg completed his reserve officer training on foreign soil in 1983 as part of the Bundeswehr integration in the EU. He continued his education between 1984 and 1985 as a trainee bank clerk at Deutsche Bank AG.
He then took up a practical traineeship with one of the leading AUDI/VW partners in Northern Germany, where he remained until the start of his degree course in Applied Economics at Hamburg University, which he completed in 1989 (BscEcon). Parallel to his studies, Mr. Spielberg was tasked by SHARP Electronics Europe GmbH to supervise a project with newly developed handheld databases.
Mr. Spielberg founded AXRO Bürokommunikation Distribution Import Export GmbH in 1990, of which he has been founding shareholder and CEO ever since. Mr. Spielberg has always focused specifically on consulting quality, commitment, and client proximity. He sees these components as the basis for successful partnership operations.
Maren Chatzisavvas
Head of Finance, Controlling & Human Ressources
Maren Chatzisavvas successfully completed her apprenticeship as trader in wholesale and foreign trade at Hermann Laue (Hamburg) in 1984. She then took on sole responsibility for goods accounting at Kessler & Co. Agrarproduktenhandelsges. mbH (Hamburg) for the next 11 years
Her career path then led Ms. Chatzisavvas towards 2.5 years of heading up the debtor/creditor accounting department and reporting to the mother company in Antwerp (Holland) of Pacific Fruchtimport GmbH in Hamburg.
Ms. Chatzisavvas joined AXRO on July 21, 1997. She was initially tasked with the responsibilities of sole accountant, and gradually built up an independent finance and accounting department. She has been team leader for financial accounting for the partner service between our clients and suppliers since mid-2001.
The continuing development of our accounting programme under her supervision has always guaranteed a very high level of customer orientation and quick response times. Ms. Chatzisavvas furthermore heads up our risk management and controlling department, and is responsible for the development and implementation of our HR concept. Also in finances, her further area of responsibility, she always placed a particular focus on an open and cooperative exchange with our house banks.
Ms. Chatzisavvas was granted general powers of attorney for the company in March of 2010.
Jens Nolte
Head of Purchase
Jens Nolte completed an apprenticeship as a communication electronics technician with Telekom in 1996. He then went on to fulfil his obligation as civilian serviceman with the German Workers' Samaritan Federation and began his professional career in his trade as an ISDN technician in Bielefeld.
In 1998, Mr. Nolte was given the opportunity to work for Büscher GmbH, a leading wholesaler for copy supplies in East Westphalia/Germany, in their sales and purchasing departments.
This part of his professional career laid the foundations for his current role and for his in-depth knowledge of the supply industry. Mr. Nolte changed to AXRO Bürokommunikation Distribution Import Export GmbH in 2004, where he started out as a member of the sales team for the subsidiary offices in Würzburg and Bielefeld. Mr. Nolte was able to generate impressive sales numbers in the German market within a short space of time, and created numerous valuable contacts for the future.
He moved to Hamburg in 2007, as a job vacancy as a second purchaser was offered. He was very interested in the purchasing side of the business, as his previous experience in sales would be an asset in this business unit. Just only a year later, Mr. Nolte was promoted to head of purchasing. In this role, he has been since maintaining intensive contacts with all well-known manufacturers and distribution partners across Europe.
Mr. Nolte was granted general powers of attorney for the company in March of 2010.
Katja Heimburger
Head of Export
When Ms. Heimburger left Germany to work in Italy for a year directly after finishing school, she had no idea that this move represented the most important cornerstone of her future professional career.
Upon her return to Germany, she decided to supplement her language skills with a commercial education, and enrolled at the Staatliche Fremdsprachenschule Hamburg [State School for Foreign Languages].
She followed up her studies with two years in the international trade department of Bernd Otto in Hamburg, the main target market of which was Italy. In 1993, AXRO advertised for a new member of their sales team who, while focusing mainly on the Italian market, would also be able to service and expand other southern European markets.
Ms. Heimburger recognised her opportunity to utilise and expand her already extensive language skills in Italian, but also for English, French, and Spanish. She submitted her application. Over the coming years, Ms. Heimburger contributed significantly towards the exponential growth of the company, which resulted in her heading up her own sales team within a short space of time, and consequently also contributing to the development and expansion of international contacts and the company’s current strong turnover performance.
In order to be able to fulfil the increasingly demanding individual requirements of clients around the globe, and in view of the responsibilities in terms of turnover volume for the company, Ms. Heimburger decided to begin a parallel study course in foreign trade administration, which she successfully completed in 2001. As the head of export and with the receipt of general powers of attorney for the company, Ms. Heimburger has declared it her personal goal to create and maintain partnerships in as many countries around the world as possible, and to promote fair trade and courtesy both internally and externally.
